Alex is a Solicitor at Briffa, advising on both contentious and non‑contentious matters across the full spectrum of Intellectual Property (IP) issues. He acts for a wide range of clients, which includes start‑ups, SMEs, established brands and rights‑holders.
Prior to joining Briffa, Alex spent several years working in commercial litigation and arbitration before switching to IP at an international firm in London where he worked on a range of legal matters both contentious and non-contentious involving sectors such as life sciences, fashion, luxury brands, retail and consumer, technology, cryptocurrency, and food and beverage. Alex’s wide experience allows him to strategically consider client needs from a commercial lense as well as simultaneously being aware of brand strategy and contentious risks that clients could encounter in the future.
Background and qualifications
Alex completed his BA in Philosophy at the University of Liverpool, he then completed a GDL in Law at BPP Liverpool as well as the LPC and a Master’s degree at the University of Law in London before starting his professional legal career.
Alex joined Briffa in 2026 as a Solicitor.
