William advises on a broad range of intellectual property matters with a focus on contentious work. William specialises in particular on trade mark, design right and copyright disputes, passing off claims and domain name complaints.
William’s client base is largely made up of product manufacturers/retailers and he acts for a large number of our footwear and fashion clients.
William completed his legal studies at the College of Law, Guildford. He joined us in early 2014 after leaving another London-based law firm where he acted for a wide variety of clients including international hair care brands and highly acclaimed sports personalities.
William acts as Briffa’s liaison with a number of our affiliate organisations, such as the British Footwear Association, A©ID: Anti Copying In Design, Craft Central and The Copyright Lawyer Magazine. William is also an active member of the IPSoc and has previously written for the ITMA Review.
Outside of work, William is a keen DIY enthusiast and loves trying to “build” things, with mixed results.
