Mark Corran – Solicitor
Mark advises clients across a diverse range of industries – including fashion, food, homewares and digital – in relation to a wide spectrum of IP, IT (along with data protection) and general commercial matters, with a particular focus on trade marks and domain names.
He represents clients before the EUIPO and the UK IPO in trade mark opposition proceedings as well as in trade mark and registered design cancellation proceedings and before the Czech Arbitration Court, NAF and WIPO in relation to domain name complaints. Notable contentious matters include a complex UDRP case (Regent Croft Limited v Contact Privacy Inc. and CoolSkin Laboratories Limited) and a registered Community design invalidation application and subsequent appeal (KOS Group International (UK) Inc. v Magmatic Limited).
Mark studied undergraduate law at the University of Sheffield before taking a master’s in International Business Law at the University of Liverpool (being awarded the Dean’s Prize). He subsequently worked at Shipley IP while studying on the Legal Practice Course and, later, while training. Shortly after qualifying in 2011, he moved to Briffa.
