Maria Triantafillou
A solicitor at BriffaMaria advises on all intellectual property matters with particular experience in Brands, Trade Marks, and Designs. Maria is involved in mainly non-contentious matters, including the licensing and assigning of intellectual property rights, drafting co-existence agreements and consent agreements. Maria also deals with intellectual property infringement matters, including trade mark and copyright infringement, enforcement of intellectual property rights and counterfeit work.
Specialising in Trade Marks and Brands, Maria is Head of Trade Marks at Briffa and deals with worldwide brand clearance, brand protection, filing of trade marks worldwide, dealing with OHIM and UK oppositions, and objections raised by Trade Mark Examiners. Dealing with a number of high profile personalities and corporations to small businesses and individuals, Maria has been involved with numerous brand portfolios and also advises on brand, marketing and advertising strategy.
Maria qualified at Baker & McKenzie and worked in both London and Sydney. Maria also worked at Field Fisher Waterhouse where she specialised in Trade Marks. Maria is a member of Institute of Trade Mark Agents (ITMA); and speaks at various events on designs, trade marks and brand protection.
