.eu domains enter Landrush phase
7 April 2006 sees the next phase open in the application process for .eu domain names. Up until now applicants have either had to have registered trade mark rights (Sunrise 1) or other evidence of their use of the name used in the domain (Sunrise 2) however the beginning of the third and final phase means that anyone residing in the EU can apply for any remaining .eu. domain names. 320,000 .eu applications were received in the first two phases and any remaining domains are first come first served so what are you waiting for?!
BRIFFA Comment:
It has been predicted that .eu will become one of the most important top level domains after .com and therefore it is important that you should back up your existing domains where possible with the .eu equivalent. It is much easier to obtain a domain and hold onto it than it is to work to recover a domain tat is being used by cybersquatters (although it you do you have a problem with someone using your domain we can help with this!)
